Not car related, I know, but I'm writing an essay, and I need to know what the name of this roof is called. I believe its combination roof, but I'm not sure.

I think you're right. Pyramid/Hip/combo, depending on the other sides.

I'd call it a hipped roof, unless you are talking about the porch. Then you could call it a colonnade, or a breezeway, or a portico... There are a ton of words for this kind of thing.

Yo have a number of styles there. I would call the top part going back at a slope a hip. I'd post a pic, but Kinja is being a bitch with Chrom. GIS "hip roof".
